Winter's Last Gasp?
With temperatures in the 60's today, it would seem as though winter is behind us. However, current computer modeling is pointing toward the possibility for snow Friday through Saturday. As a stalled cold front begins moving and pushing southeast, a low pressure wave is forecast to develop along the front and move northeastward. Temperatures will be marginal, but it looks as though there will be the possibility of a period of snowfall and perhaps a moderate accumulation. Exact totals and whether the precipitation might begin as rain will depend on the exact track and development of the low pressure system as well as the timing of the approaching cold front. Pictured below is the 18z American GFS Model's depiction of the event, valid 9pm Friday evening.
